Police Identify Two Remaining Victims Who Perished In Express Bus Tragedy

JOHOR BAHRU, Dec 9 -- Police have identified the remaining two victims who perished during an accident involving a Super Nice Grassland Express bus at KM146.5 of the North-South Expressway near Tangkak at 2am yesterday.Muar Police Chief ASP Mohammad Nasir Ramli when contacted said the two remaining victims (both men) who were among 10 who died in the accident, were Choo Soo Heong, 46, from Sitiawan and Leong Kok Wai, 30, from Teluk Intan, Perak.He said the remains of both Choo and Leong was claimed by their family members today while family members had claimed the remains of eight others who also died during the tragic accident.Among the 10 who perished during the incident when the bus that was on its way to Singapore from Pantai Remis, Perak, skidded and rolled several times before landing on its side in a ditch, included two children - Chan Jia Yit, 9 and Ng Siew Woon, 12 (both girls).The remaining six victims included four women, Ng Ah Hua, 40, Ho Lee Lee, 42, Foo Pei Sin, 21, Khor Mooi Hui, 49, and two men, Fuh Mooi Lang, 57 and Ho Chung Shing, 26.Apart from the 10 who died at the spot and Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar, 18 others were injured while police have detained the driver and his assistant to assist in investigations following the accident.

Eight Victims Of Bus Accident Identified

MUAR, Dec 8 -- Police have identified the identity of eight of the 10 passengers of the Super Nice Grassland express bus who died when the bus overturned at Kilometre 146.5 of the North-South Expressway between Tangkak and Pagoh, near here at 2am today.Those who had been identified were four women, Foo Pei Sin, 21, Khor Mooi Hui, 49, Ng Ah Hua, 40, and Ho Lee Lee, 42, two girls, Chan Jia Yit, 9, and Ng Siew Woon, 12, and two men Fuh Mooi Lang, 57, and Ho Chung Shing, 26.Ho was a Hong Kong national who had a Singapore permanent resident status."The bodies of Foo and Khor were claimed by their respective families from Johor Baharu while the bodies of Fuh and Chan from Sitiawan, Perak have yet to be claimed by their families," Muar Police Chief ACP Mohammad Nasir Ramli told reporters here.The identity of the remaining two bodies, both men, had yet to be identified, he said.Mohammad Nasir said seven of the victims died on the spot while the other three died at the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital, here.Fourteen victims, aged between 11 and 40, are being treated at the same hospital.They comprise seven men, including the 38-year-old first driver, and second driver, 26, four women, two girls and a boy."We will detain the (first) driver who sustained head injury, and the second driver, who suffered body pain, to assist in the investigation after they are discharged from hospital," he said.Four other victims were treated as outpatients.Mohammad Nasir said the bus had left Pantai Remis, Perak at 7pm yesterday, heading for Singapore.The first driver, S. Segaran, who was met at the hospital, said the incident occurred very quickly."I don't remember anything except that I suddenly felt the steering wheel was heavy," he said.
