Johor!!! Johor!!! Johor!!!
MUAR: The Iskandar growth region in Johor Baru is expected to attract fresh investments from China, Abu Dhabi and the United States this year.
Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said he would lead a delegation to the three nations soon to attract the investments.Speaking to reporters here, he said the global economic recession had slowed credit flow to many countries, but he expected the situation to improve by the end of the year.
“We have some agreements to conclude with investors in the three countries and I hope to finalise them when I visit them in the next two months.“We hope, with the new Prime Minister who is a co-chairman of the Iskandar growth region, we can attract fresh interest,” he said after attending a luncheon hosted by Muar Retired Civil Servants Association on Saturday.
Abdul Ghani said, besides Lego Land, two other projects, namely Education City and Medical City, had great potential to attract investment.
He said, with the new Cabinet headed by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the investors would have confidence in Iskandar.“There are already signs that the flow of credit has started and we expect the recession to end by early next year,” he added.
